FEATURES A COMPANY VALUES IN A POTENTIAL EMPLOYEE

·         Read the qualities for a potential ‘ELT consultant’, just published in Argentina by a leading company. How do they compare with the ones mentioned in the listening “The qualities I admire in other adults”.
·         Can these qualities be learned/developed? What must a teacher-to-be do to prepare her/himself for a job with similar requirements?

I think the qualities listed here are more related to professional than personal qualities, while the ones in the listening centered more to personal qualities than professional (at least that is what I remember...)

Most of the qualities listed here can be learned because they are related to how to do the job, and everyone can be a teacher in that sense. But some of them (like point 4 or 6) have to do with more personal characteristics that are no so easy to developed.

As regards as what to do to get the job, I think you must be ready to learn things you don't know how to do and also you have to be persistant, if that is what you really want for you future.

I agree with Gianna, the qualities listed are aimed at the professional competence the company needs in a potential employee, that is why the emphasis is not on the personal qualities of the employee-to-be.

I think most of the qualities can be learned because what it is going to be teached is a language. However, Some qualities are of a personal kind, they have to do with personality traits.

In order to get the job,the quality I consider most important is willingness, if you are not open to changes you will miss a lot of interesting opportunities.
